This
is a temporary FAQ section...
I
receive a LOT of questions by mail and hardly reply due to lack
of time (full time workin' mommy). It's like 4AM and hot and I can't
fall asleep and there's another mail in my box with Qs... I guess
this is not a bad time to get some FAQ up... So here goes:
Usage:
My brushes are free of charge for any sort of non-commercial use.
For the commercial stuff I'd appreciate a letter
detailing the use so I can decide if I agree to this or not.
I ask that if you use my brushes on your website (either to design
the site itself or in art exhibited within the site) that you credit
me by linking back to vbrush's MAIN PAGE. Also, if you use the brushes
in any other form that enables credit, please do credit by including
the full link (like on a CD cover, for instance).
My brushes can not be offered from any other site. Do NOT
upload them to your site, even if you credit me, I won't tolerate
my brushes bein' offered on another site. Just don't do it and don't
let me catch you doin' it.
PSP
issues:
The
most repeated Q I get in the mail. Can my brushes be used in PSP
(7 or 8)? The answer is NO. My sets were created in photoshop 6
or 7 and PSP doesn't support brushes of these versions. Nor will
PSP support any brushes larger than 255x255 (PSP7), or 500x500 (PSP8).
Link
exchange:
Will
I link your site from mine? Sorry, most likely I won't. I'm trying
to keep things to the minimum, and am short on time. I'd rather
concentrate on brushes if I do work on the site and not worrying
about adding new links. If you are a brush artist you can always
add your link to the brush
search engine.
How
to do things:
Will
I answer 'how to' stuff? I used to do that, but I don't anymore
due to lack of time. I have a small tutorial
section here on vbrush which you can use to get things started.
I also moderate the 'tools & techniques' section over at the
Creative
boards. You are more than welcome to join and post your Qs there.
Either I will answer or another helpful member of the board would
be happy to oblige. The people there know their brushes pretty well.
Will
you make me something:
Make
a brush as per request... most likely I won't. I don't have the
time (I think there's a pattern forming here). If I will make a
set, it will be because the request inspired me enough to try it.
My
brush art:
I
love comments about it, but please ask permission if you wish to
use it. Don't send me a link showing that you used my art and credited
me. Ask me first.
Redirection
in my site:
I
have some scripts on this site that force people to the following
page: http://veredgf.fredfarm.com/vbrush/whatever.html. The reason
is to prevent people from accessing the site from various pages
other than the main page. I try to monitor the hits on my site tracker,
check out who links me and I can't put a tracker on every page,
so this is my way of controling things on the site. For some reason,
this will cause problems for a few people. Even if they will access
the site correctly, they might still be redirected. I apologize
for this but I won't be changing the script. I got tired of trusting
the goodness and kindness of the net people... Requesting a link
to the right page doesn't always work.
My
brushes:
Were
created using images found on the net from gettyone or from google
images if the images were the property of a public body such as
a library. Also brushes were created out of my own scans, my own
photos and self-made creations based on my weird brain.
Lately
I've been posting a few new sets over at my
deviantart account. Hope over and check'em out.
