Adding
some colour to brush images:
Sometimes
you'd really like your brushes to actually be colourful images,
right? Sometimes you'd like them not to all be one single colour...
So here's my suggestions for adding some life to those single coloured
brush images. Hope you like this.
First
we start with printing a brush image like this one:
Now
create a new layer and then choose some feathured brush. We will
be doing some "in between line" colouring so you might
want to pick a brush that isn't too large... These are the feathered
brushes I meant:
Ok,
now in the new layer you added start adding various colours according
to the brush shape or just as you see fit. In this case this is
what I did:

Now
the easiest way to get the colour looking nice is to change the
coloured layer's blending mode into "colour". This is
the result:

Another
option is to run gausian blur on the coloured layer:
And
then play with blend modes:
Overlay:

Burn:

And
that's about it - simple, yet pretty, no?
